BORZOINK!

GMTK Game Jam, created in 48 hours in a team of 3. My roles included creating the environment assets and importing them into unity, as well as creating the 2D elements like the menu buttons and cursor. I was also the 'producer' of this silly game!

Internship - HUMAIN - 12 Months

(In Progress) As a Trainee Production Coordinator at HUMAIN, I support the Production and R&D Teams by efficiently scheduling and coordinating delivery of 3D Character assets to top video game developers like AXIS, OBSIDIAN Entertainment, and others.

ESCAPE STUDIOS - Character Creation for Games and VFX

(In Progress) In this course at Escape Studios, I learned essential techniques for digital character design and creation. This included character modelling and texturing using industry standard tools. I pursued this course while working full-time in a related field.

Whitenoise Studios

During my 10-week internship in Spring 2023 at Whitenoise Studios, I excelled as a member of the social media marketing team. I created engaging social media content for a live client, collaborating closely with animators. Demonstrating initiative, I naturally transitioned into a leadership role.

Adobe Certified Professional in Visual Design

This certification is an industry-recognized validation of the individual's expertise in Visual Design, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.

My Role:
Producer & Asset Creation
My role over the 48 hours of this game jam was creating the Environment assets and importing them into Unity. I also created the Logo, menu buttons and custom cursor using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Theme: Roles Reversed:
The role reversal in this game comes from the idea of a guide dog - reversed. Instead of leading your visually impaired, full-body cast-owner to safety (you know.. GUIDE-ing them)... You LEAD THEM STRAIGHT TO THE DANGER!


Powderkeg Paws

For my final College Project I created a demo for an original 3rd person wave defence game called "Powderkeg Paws"This was a solo project, in which I had to pitch to a mock publisher in front of the class, also including a final pitch in front of the 1st year class showcasing the prototype under 3 minutes.I used Trello to sort tasks and Github for Version Control.Software Used:

"Powderkeg Paws" shows the story of Caspian, a fox determined to protect his village from endless waves of monsters. Guided by the wisdom of his mentor, Alder, and aided by his loyal friend, Lyra, Caspian defends his home from relentless hordes of monstrous creatures every night. Caspian wields the powerful weapon Auridian. (More lore in the G.D.D)


Kael the Root Slayer - GGJ23

I travelled to Farset Labs in February 2023 to participate in the Global Game Jam 2023. I found myself in a team of 7, one of us being remote in Germany.We used Trello to sort tasks and Discord to stay connected so that our remote member was kept in the loop at all times.
I was a 2D Pixel artist and Animator (using Aseprite and PyxlEdit).

Kael the Root Slayer is a powerful druid as old as time itself having the sole purpose of protecting the sacred sapling of restoration, of which the entire world relies on as a single source of life. An invasive strangler fig species has found its way to the sacred sapling. The Strangler fig sucks up the nutrients from its victims, causing them to die.It’s your sole responsibility to defend the sapling or die trying! Use your druid powers to fight against the strangler fig!


Cats Commit Café Chaos - NI Student Game Jam 2022

I participated in the Northern Ireland Student Game Jam 2022, organised by Rory Clifford, with two of my classmates, one ended up getting COVID and had to work from home.We used Trello to sort tasks and Discord to keep our remote member (Producer) in the loop.
I was a 3D & 2D artist and Animator (using Blender and Photoshop).

[Lifts Spirits & Cats]
Tim the programmer has set up his very own cat café! his friend and co-worker Jonny has accidently spilled the catnip all over the floor and the cats have gone wild!They have hired your help to collect the cats around the café and bring them to the customers, to lift their spirits!Tim is trying to record one of his YouTube tutorial videos so he needs you to be extra quick in delivering those cats!

The night before Black Friday, something strange happened. The whole globe went dark for 6.9 hours. It was a strange phenomenon that had never happened before. You got up in the morning and went to work as per usual for the opening shift at Wallshart. As the clock ticked closer to 9am you realised you were the only one there... everyone's alarms must have been reset last night. None of your co-workers had arrived. You looked to the opposite store, a hunting shop called Capri-Gun. No one in there either.Abnormally angry people start to arrive, 08.56am. You need to open in 4 minutes. The shoppers are angrier than usual like their Karen mode had been enhanced by the lack of internet access last night.08.57am you start to walk to the door, shaking in your boots. Peering out the door, you see men, women, and children frothing at the mouths, holding wallets and yelling, "WHERE ARE THE SALES GR BARK BARK BARK" (08.58am) and "LET US IN SO I CAN BY A NEW TV" (08.59am).You can't possibly survive in this store on Black Friday, especially by yourself, with one week of retail training. 09.00am.

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness

On the 26th of October, 2020, amid a global crisis (COVID), my dad (46 years old) passed away from pancreatic cancer. I was in my final year at highschool (15 years old) about to do my GCSE's.Almost exactly one year late in September, when I had just started my Games Design And Development BTEC at Northern Regional College, an opportunity came up with a local Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Charity called NIPanc. They were looking for volunteers to help in the creation of a game for people in anyway affected by this cancer.This project allowed me to combine my creativity and passion for helping others, showcasing my ability to contribute meaningfully to the cause. I am passionate about the idea of creating meaningful games that positively impact people's lives.Although my involvement in helping to develop the game only included idea generation and QA testing, I enjoyed collaberating with like-minded people to spread awarness about the disease in a modern way.This project was co-created by individuals affected by pancreatic cancer, clinicians, academic staff, and students from Queen's University.The Game:
Complete the diagram of the human anatomy before the timer runs out! Answer each question correctly to complete that section of the diagram. The game will end when the diagram is complete, or when the timer runs out.

Escape Studios (WIP)

During my internship at HUMAIN, I utilised the NI Screen skills fund to apply for and successfully secure funding for the "Character Creation for Games and VFX" course at Escape Studios.Throughout the 18-week course, held on Monday evenings from 7pm to 10pm, I gained practical experience in character design, modelling and texturing. Working online, we created an Orc character from multiple references.The course covered various techniques in character design, utilizing tools like Maya, ZBrush and Substance Painter for 3D modelling, painting, and texturing.


Whitenoise Studios

During my placement at Whitenoise, I gained valuable knowledge and skills while working on projects like Jooseology and Too Young To Wed. I developed further proficiency in design tools like Canva, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.I improved my communication and collaboration skills through remote teamwork using Trello, and gained insights into project management during a product photoshoot.
Additionally, participating in workshops and collaborating with professionals gave me an understanding of client needs and the importance of incorporating feedback.
This experience has taught me about the practical aspects of the creative industry, including the significance of effective communication, teamwork, project management, and client services.Overall, my time at Whitenoise was instrumental in enhancing my design skills and preparing me for a career in the creative industry; it allowed me to develop design skills, improve communication and collaboration abilities, gain insights into project management, and understand client services' importance in the creative industry.


Adobe Qualifications

The Adobe Certified Professional in Visual Design is an industry-recognized certification that validates the individual’s expertise in creating and designing holistic digital aesthetics using Adobe Creative Cloud. This certification requires professional-level knowledge in at least 2 Adobe applications to effectively create and develop digital creative assets.- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
After doing exceptionally well in the Adobe Illustrator Exam, with 95%, I got invited to the UK & Ireland finals, where I placed top 15 after being given a client brief.


HUMAIN

As a Trainee Production Coordinator at HUMAIN, I work with the Production Manager to support the Production Team and the R&D Team.My responsibilities involve efficiently scheduling and coordinating the delivery of high-quality 3D Character assets to our growing list of AAA video game developers including: AXIS, OBSIDIAN Entertainment, Pixel Toys, Zenimax and Saber
